Mayor Marianne Meed Ward will open this year’s BFAST Transit Users’ Forum, her office announced. The annual Forum will be held May 4 at 1pm at Centennial Hall in the Burlington Public Library’s Central Branch.
Meed Ward will join all six City Council members, who have signalled that they intend to attend.“We are very pleased that the Mayor will once again open the Transit Users’ Forum,” commented BFAST Chair Doug Brown. “Marianne Meed Ward has been a champion of better transit since she was a city councillor and has attended nearly all of our Forums in the past.“Under her leadership, and with the strong support of Council, Burlington’s transit system was rescued from near death and is now poised for record growth.“We are equally pleased that every city and regional councillor has stated their intention to attend. People who come to the Forum can be assured their voices will be heard.”The Forum will be held in Centennial Hall at the Burlington Public Library Central Branch, 2331 New St., from 1-3:30 pm, Saturday May 4.
